Challenger I is a purposely built submarine cable lay barge, designed to perform a broad range of shore-end operation.
Challenger 1 can either configurate to use a burial sled or a vertical injector, capable to bury cables from 1.5m to 10.0m below seabed. She can also configurate as a submarine cable work barge to perform Route Clearance, Cable Detection, PLIB and Cable Repair operations.
